Caught Cheating!

I was in 6th std. We were sitting in our classroom writing the first science unit test. I was sitting next to NS, the most popular girl in the class and SC was sitting next to her. I was aimlessly staring at random objects in the class and was thinking very hard. Now I don't remember exactly what it was that I was thinking about but it sure was something critical. So much that I felt like I had lost 5 senses for a few minutes.

I had seen and analysed almost everything in the class. Eventually, my eyes fell upon NS's "Components of a Flower" diagram for a moment. That was the last question and she had drawn the diagram quite nicely. An additional factor was that she had coloured the diagram. Green for the sepals, pink for the petals, yellow for the pollen, etc. I had not done all that. The question only said "sketch", so I had only made a sketch. My thoughts went back to my previous school. We had had something similar in our 4th std syllabus and I remember JK and A_ (I don't remember her last name!) drawing something similar and colouring it. The teacher had appreciated them a lot. But truly, why do these people try so hard to seek the teachers attention! What do they gain out of it! The question only says"sketch"so just sketch! So NS is also one of those attention seekers! She just wants to do a little extra to impress the teacher! What will happen now is that the teacher will see her diagram once and will throw away everyone else's papers! Overnight she'll become the teacher's pet and the rest of us will simply exist!**

Some students had some doubts I guess so they were asking the teacher. I also see NS calling X. X sits in the bench in front of us. She calls X and the speak a few words. Most of it is just muted signals.

Cheater!!! Being an attention seeker is acceptable! But cheating like this for attention is sick!! Hah! Anybody can score a 100% by cheating! I hope the teacher finds out! In fact, I'm gonna tell her mysel...

Suddenly in the corner of my eye, I see NS shoot up and shout,"Ma'am!!"

Oh what now! Started your 'attention seeking' already? Wait until I start talking!! He he ha ha ha!!
}:-D

NS,"Ma'am!!! She's copying from my paper!!"

What! SC too?? Oh so AS n NS had planned it and SC got in the way?

Suddenly, I heard the invigilating teacher shouting,
"You girl in the last bench! How dare you copy! That too in 6th std itself!"

Ahah! SC got caught! I thought I saw her too talking to X in the front bench....

"Cha! Your old school has spoilt you so much! You dare to copy in 6th std itself!"

Old school? Maybe SC too joined with me only.... I was planning to complain about her cheating myself... Good thing she saw it herself!

The teacher marches to our bench.

"Next time I see you cheating, I'll take you to the Principal's office!"

Yes! There goes her "colourful" parts of a flowers down the drain... Seriously, why do people want to show off with all those colours when the question clearly asks us to only "sketch"... Maybe she was trying to get into the teacher's good books... But you gotta be honest first! Like me! :)

"Hey! I'm talking to you! How dare you sit like a stone!"

This SC does deserve this! Surely NS will also get caught, she and SC being best friends and SC was copying from NS. NS was herself copying from X..... Why are you looking at me?!

"Aren't you ashamed?! You won't even say 'sorry' ! This is the last warning for you! If I see you copying ever again you will be given TC!"

But bu...

And the teacher storms away!

OK, this is what really happened.

I thought I saw NS colouring her drawing for just a minute, which was true considering the fact that I had looked at her drawing only for a moment and had started thinking about everything else. I was so caught up in my thoughts that I was blankly staring at her drawing even after NS called had the teacher. I didn't realise this till the last moment!

The scoldings actually continued for some more time. It left such impact on me that I never tried to (rather was afraid as hell to) cheat in exams for all of my remaining school life. Kinda got over the phobia now! ;) :P

**I always thought one has to do some extra academic work to impress the teachers. But lately, I have been proven terribly wrong! Seems its enough to just be a stool pigeon! :(

One Question

Exams were going on. We had 3 days leave between the exams. One of the worst papers in my opinion was that of "Computer Architecture", in which we study in detail about the overall organization and architecture of the basic computer.

It was a complete theory paper with many block diagrams here and there. In 3 days we were expected to study a 700pgs book with size 10 fonts.

Day 1:
I start studying early in the morning. By 10am I am in Disney World Hongkong. I return at 2pm. I eat and then have my ritualistic afternoon nap. I start again at 6 pm. Dinner at 8pm. Back to Hongkong at 10pm. The book remains wide open. Progress - 20pgs

Day 2:
With little panic rising I again start studying early. With so much of theory to remember, it seems like a Herculean task to study 5 pages in an hour. Yet the day goes somewhat similar to the previous day. Only today I manage to study half of 1 unit and half of another out of a total of 5 units. The book still remains open as I go to bed that night, shivering a little. Progress- half a unit each in 2 units.

Day 3:
Today I wake up completely scared, shivering with exam pneumonia or exam influenza, I guess, because 'exam fever' would definitely be an understatement to my then state. I try to flip through the pages as fast as I could. I try to remember what I understand and try to by-heart what I don't. By afternoon my progress bar reads 2 units with a few questions left out here and there. This totally freaks me out. I start again after having lunch, this time trying a different approach. Me and my friend take up a unit and split the topics among us. We will study our respective topics and whatever else we could. When both of us have done reading our respective topics we will explain those topics to the other over the phone. But after a long time we realize that we are making no significant progress so give up on our grand plans and continue to study. Dinnertime comes and goes, no idea what I ate. After dinner spent 1 and a half hours on the phone with another friend (you remember Bunny right?). After this my progress bar said I had half the unit in 1 unit and some 5 to 10 topics collectively in the remaining 4 units left and my battery meter was down to 1 bar. I went to sleep and again the books remained open.

D-Day:
I was leaving for the college when my mom started to say her usual "Good Luck!"s. She paused for a moment and asked,"Wait a minute, what exam did you say you had today?"
I was having my breakfast so with a full mouth I replied,"Computer Architecture, ma..."
And her response to this,"Architecture-a? Nee yedo computer-nu thaane sonna?"

Kittens in my Flats :) - 2

The kittens are no longer in my flats because either they were taken away by the watchman or they grew old enough to leave themselves. The latter seems to be less probable considering their still shy and baby nature. But it could be true too. Either way they are not here anymore and I pray they live a good life where ever they are. These were the last few pics I took when they started recognizing and playing with me and grew a little tolerant towards the flash ;)

But I guess I woke them up! }:-D
